Medical Practice Patient Guide is a publishing business producing practice information guides for medical practices and health clinics within Australia.

AIM
The aim of Medical Practice Patient Guide is simple:

to produce practice information guides for patients and clients of individual medical practices and health clinics: these guides will answer some of the many questions a patient or client may have about that practice’s staff, consulting hours, billing arrangements, range of services provided, policies and procedures; and

to design the guides as handy take-home booklets which a patient or client will keep for reference.

THE PRACTICE INFORMATION
Accreditation Standards for medical practices require that a certain amount of information is made readily available to patients: such as names of doctors working in the practice, staff names (subject to their consent), the practice address and telephone numbers, consulting hours, plus after-hours arrangements for care with after-hours contact telephone number. With this in mind, the guides contain this essential information and
much more..

THE GUIDES
The guides are 16 page booklets, A5-sized, and produced using 2 colour printing.
Often the guides replace the information sheets which many practices already have in their surgeries, and which patients are able to read or take home.

To further improve on this situation, the guides have been designed as FREE take-home booklets which can be used as a future reference by patients. They contain forms for recording medications, allergies, tests, immunisations and important medical records information such as blood group, Medicare and Pension numbers, plus name of Private Health Insurance.

Emergency telephone numbers and telephone numbers of local hospitals are placed in an easily-accessed position.

A table of the Australian Standard Vaccination Schedule is included in each Guide.
Health information tips such as Guidelines for Cholesterol Control are included, as space permits.
The guides are updated annually to make sure that the latest information is available to patients.

ADVERTISERS
As well as containing the practice information, the guides include advertisements and editorials from local businesses, Allied Health businesses and health-related products and services. Accordingly, Medical Practice Patient Guide offers a select group of businesses an opportunity to present their goods and services in the guide, thus building an awareness of the local health community.
